Rivian roofs vary. Second-generation R1S and R1T models offer a Dynamic Glass Roof that tints electronically at the touch of a button[6], included on Tri-Motor[7]. Other R1s have a fixed panoramic glass roof. Because a Dynamic Glass Roof switches its own tint, we inspect it before recommending anything.
R2 owners: if your R2 is one of the early builds covered by Rivian’s roof glass bulletin, Rivian may replace the roof glass if you report heat coming through it[4]. Check with Rivian first, then let us handle the rest of the glass.

What Tint Is Legal on a Rivian in Arizona?
Under Arizona law, front side windows must let in at least 33% of light (plus or minus 3%), with reflectance no more than 35% (plus or minus 3%)[11]. Rear side and rear windows can go darker when the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides[11]. 3M Crystalline is built to block heat without going dark, so you can stay light and stay cool. Sunroof or glass roof tint is quoted separately.

How much does it cost to tint a Rivian R1S or R1T?
At Optima, 3M window tint starts at $349 for Color Stable IR, $695 for Ceramic IR and $750 for 3M Crystalline. Sunroof or glass roof tint is quoted separately, and final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your vehicle.
Can you tint a Rivian Dynamic Glass Roof?
A Dynamic Glass Roof tints itself electronically, so we inspect it before recommending any film. Fixed panoramic glass roofs can be tinted. Roof tint is quoted separately.
Can you tint the Rivian R2 glass roof?
We can look at it. First, check with Rivian: it issued a service bulletin for some early 2027 R2s and may replace the roof glass if you report heat coming through it. Roof tint is quoted separately.

Does window tint improve a Rivian’s range?
Tint doesn’t change your battery or motors, and no one publishes a range gain for window tint. What it does is cut the sun’s heat coming through the glass, so the A/C, which runs on your Rivian’s high-voltage battery, has less heat to remove. How much does PPF cost on a Rivian?
Paint protection film at Optima starts at $925 for Partial Front, $1,650 for Full Front and $4,800 for Full Vehicle. Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your vehicle.
Should I get ceramic coating or PPF on my Rivian?
They do different jobs. Paint protection film is a clear physical layer that takes rock chips and light scratches on high-impact areas. Ceramic coating adds gloss and makes washing easier. Many owners put PPF on the front end and ceramic coating over the whole car. Ceramic coating at Optima starts at $1,295.
