For Tesla Owners in North Phoenix
Why Tesla Owners Choose 3M Crystalline
Teslas carry a lot of glass, and in a North Phoenix parking lot that glass is where your cabin heat comes from. Tesla’s glass already scores under 2 on the UV Index[4], but UV isn’t heat. 3M Crystalline is built to reflect heat-producing infrared rays, up to 99% of them[1], without a dark, tinted look.
In a Tesla, the climate control system is powered by the high-voltage battery[5]. When the parked cabin goes over 105°F, Cabin Overheat Protection can run the A/C, which Tesla says uses battery energy and may decrease range[5]. Less heat getting in means less heat to fight. - Phone key friendlyTesla phone keys use Bluetooth[6]. Crystalline is non-metal and won’t interfere with phones, GPS or 5G[1].
- Factory lookCrystalline rejects more heat than many dark films[1], so your Tesla can stay light.
- Interior protectionUV is a cause of fading in fabrics and leather[7]. Crystalline blocks up to 99.9%[2].

Tesla Glass Roof Tint
Tesla Glass Roof & Panoramic Roof Tint
A Tesla glass roof sits right over your head. Tesla says its roof and windows score under 2 on the UV Index[4], but on a 110° afternoon in the Valley, what you feel through that glass is heat. Many owners add 3M Crystalline to the roof for a cooler cabin and less heat on their heads and shoulders.
Roof tint is quoted separately, and we inspect your roof glass before recommending a film.

What Tint Is Legal on a Tesla in Arizona?
Under Arizona law, front side windows must let in at least 33% of light (plus or minus 3%), with reflectance no more than 35% (plus or minus 3%)[12]. Rear side and rear windows can go darker when the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides[12]. 3M Crystalline is built to block heat without going dark, so you can stay light and stay cool. Sunroof or glass roof tint is quoted separately.
Tesla Tint, PPF & Ceramic FAQ
How much does it cost to tint a Tesla in Phoenix?
At Optima, 3M window tint starts at $349 for Color Stable IR, $695 for Ceramic IR and $750 for 3M Crystalline. Sunroof or glass roof tint is quoted separately, and final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your vehicle.
Should I tint my Tesla glass roof?
Tesla says its roof and windows already score under 2 on the UV Index, so the reason to tint the roof is heat, not UV. Many owners add 3M Crystalline to the glass roof for a cooler cabin. Roof tint is quoted separately, and we inspect your roof glass first.
What tint percentage is legal on a Tesla in Arizona?
Arizona law requires front side windows to let in at least 33% of light (plus or minus 3%), with reflectance no more than 35% (plus or minus 3%). Rear side and rear windows can be darker when the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides. Sunroof or glass roof tint is quoted separately, and we’ll help you choose the right shade.
Will window tint affect my Tesla phone key?
Tesla phone keys use Bluetooth. 3M Crystalline is a non-metal film that 3M says won’t interfere with phones, GPS or 5G.
Does window tint improve my Tesla’s range?
Tint doesn’t change your battery or motors, and no one publishes a range gain for window tint. What it does is cut the sun’s heat coming through the glass, so the A/C, which runs on your Tesla’s high-voltage battery, has less heat to remove. AAA found EV range dropped 17% on average at 95°F with the A/C on. See our EV hub for the details.
Tesla ceramic coating vs PPF: which do I need?
They do different jobs. Paint protection film is a clear physical layer that takes rock chips and light scratches on high-impact areas. Ceramic coating adds gloss and makes washing easier. Many owners put PPF on the front end and ceramic coating over the whole car. Ceramic coating at Optima starts at $1,295.
How much does PPF cost on a Tesla?
Paint protection film at Optima starts at $925 for Partial Front, $1,650 for Full Front and $4,800 for Full Vehicle. Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your vehicle.
Do you offer Tesla paint correction?
Yes, on painted Teslas. Paint correction at Optima starts at $649 for a Stage 1 Enhancement Polish, $999 for Stage 2 and $1,499 for Stage 3. The final level is confirmed after an in-person paint inspection. Cybertruck has a stainless steel body with no clear coat, so it isn’t treated like painted paint.
Can you tint and protect a Cybertruck?
Yes, we tint Cybertruck windows with 3M film. Its stainless steel body has no clear coat, and Tesla says scratch repair should follow its stainless refinishing procedures. Bring your truck by and we’ll talk through protection options.
Is Optima a Tesla-certified shop?
No. Optima Pro is an independent 3M Authorized Expert Shop in North Phoenix with over 20 years of experience. We are not affiliated with, certified by, or endorsed by Tesla, Inc.. We work on Tesla vehicles the same careful way we work on every car.
